How HRplus calculate salary proration

Explanation of proration calculation for a salaried employee:


Salary = 11333.34
Starting Date: May 15th, 2023
HRplus Proration = 6,405.80 (weekdays chosen for the pay group)

May = 31 days,  of which 23 days are weekdays

Unit rate = 11333.34/173.33 =  65.3859 (salary divided by hours in pay group)
Daily hrs =173.33/23 = 7.5361 (hrs in pay group divided by weekdays for the month)
Daily rate = unit rate x daily hrs =65.3859x7.5361= 492.754

Salary for May 15th - 31st = 13 days
Daily rate x number of days = 492.754 x 13 days = 6,405.800

Monthly hours 
Example Calculation 1: The calculation may be 52 * 40/12  = 173.33.  52 is the number of weeks in the year; 40 is the number of hours in the work week, assuming five 8-hour days (8*5); 12 is the number of calendar months.
